Web Design and Development Course Cover Sheet

Course Description:

This class is an introduction to the design, creation, and maintenance of web pages and web sites. Students learn how to work with images, and to properly create, link and maintain web pages. The course projects progress from introductory work on web design software to the capstone projects that demonstrate mastery of the NWCET skill standards for information technology.

Course Objectives:

• Students will gain the skills and project-based experience needed for entry into web design and development careers.
• Students will be able to create web pages and web sites using a variety of strategies and tools (industry standard software and hardware).

Units:

The units of this course are presented as separate discrete sequential steps in the process. This may be a bit deceiving, because as with any curriculum, when put into practice there will be overlapping and modification between units to suit the individual instructor and class (intro skill level, size of class and general temperament).
