
Unit 3: Preparing Images
Unit 3 Overview:
There are two modules in this unit. In the first module students do tutorials based on PhotoShop skills. In the second module students apply those skills by creating a portrait of themselves and designing some navigation buttons. The portrait and the buttons will be incorporated in their personal web site in Unit 4.

- Use the marquee, lasso, and magic wand tools to select parts of an image in various ways.
- Reposition a selection marquee.

- Adjust a selection with the arrow keys.
- Add to and subtract from selections.
- Rotate, scale, and transform a selection.
- Combine selection tools.
- Crop an image.
- Scan images and save them in the appropriate file format in an accessible location.
- Use a digital camera and save images in an accessible location.
- Use the selection tool in PhotoShop best suited for the task of removing a form from its background.
- Create, adjust and retouch a layer to make it blend with the overall image.
- Set an image onto a transparent background and save using the appropriate file format.
- Feather an image to create a vignette effect.
