Module 3: Image Tags

Module 3: Overview

These four lessons teach students about the different types of images available and how to apply them to a web site in a variety of ways. Students will learn how to align images, change their size and bring images in as a background.

Module 3: List of lessons:

• Lesson 1: Image Sources and types (Lesson length 15 minutes)
  • Description: In the first lesson students learn various types of images used on the web and their differences. They will also learn how to get the images.
  • Learner Outcome: Students will learn the different types of images and how they are created.
  • Activity: Go through the resources listed below and examine the different types of images and how to get them.

  • Suggested Assessment:

• Lesson 2: Background Images (Lesson length 15 minutes)
  • Description: This lesson demonstrates how to put an image in the background of a Web page.
  • Learner Outcome: Students will learn how to create an image attribute in the body tag to create a background.
  • Activity: Background Images
  • Handout/Resources Needed:
    • HomeSite or NotePad
    • Reference Books in Classroom
    • Internet Sites
  • Suggested Assessment: Have students apply a background image to a Web page and show page on a browser. Instructor checks them off from their monitor.
    • Grading assessment will come later in project assignment rubric.
  
  
• Lesson 3: Images & Links (Lesson length 35 minutes)
  • Description: Students will learn how to place an image on their page
  • Learner Outcome: To be able to add images on to a Web page.
  • Activity: Images & Links
  • Handout/Resources Needed:
    • HomeSite or NotePad
    • Reference Books in Classroom
  • Suggested Assessment:
    • Check students monitors to see that they have mastered the module.
    • Grading assessment will come later in project assignment rubric.
• Lesson 4: Image Alignment with Text and Wrapping Text (Lesson length 25 minutes)
  • Description: Students will learn three ways to align an image with text. Also, they will learn how to wrap text around an image.
  • Learner Outcome: To be able to manipulate text with images.
  • Activity: Aligning & Wrapping Text

    • Reference Books in Classroom
