Comments are a diagnostic tool available to HTML authors. Comments remind the author or future editors why a specific tag was used. The comments appear only in the HTML document when opened with a text or HTML editor. They will be completely invisible when readers visit your site.

In the previous lesson you created a basic Web page. Open that Web page and add a comment code that reminds you to add an image one week from today. Place the comment at the end of the text near the bottom of the body tag.
Type <!-- where you want to add a comment the press the spacebar.
Type the comment then press the spacebar and type --> to complete the comment.
The following is an example of a comment:
