Prerequisite: Teachers of US History

Using US History course content, we will build thematic units and Classroom Based Assessments (CBAs) to met OPSI and NCLB requirements. US History Teachers will learn how to integrate technology resources effectively into the thematic units and lessons to enhance deeper student learning and understanding. Participants will build upon the following powerful teaching and learning strategies:

Teachers provide a classroom environment that actively engages all students in learning
Teachers differentiate by using a variety of instructional strategies based on the assessed strengths, needs and interests of their students

Objectives:
Participants will be able to:

Connect content thematic units with CBAs
Identify curriculum units and lessons that can be enhanced using technology resources
Develop scaffolded lessons using "just-in-time" learning and teaching
Develop US History units that promote inquiry and constructivist learning that will be shared across the district
