Description:
Learn to create effective presentations with PowerPoint. Produce, store and retrieve learning materials, and communicate information to parents and students electronically. This two-session course will provide foundational understanding and skills to apply PowerPoint basics to personal and classroom work. Participants will build upon the following powerful teaching and learning strategies:
Teachers provide a classroom environment that actively engages all students in learning
Teachers differentiate by using a variety of instructional strategies based on the assessed strengths, needs and interests of their students
Teachers implement whole group, small group and individual instruction that provide for independent application and practice
Teachers utilize a continuum of support leading to responsible, independent learners
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
Create presentation slides and handouts
Use the different templates and slide backgrounds
Use and modify the slide master
Apply different formats on a slide
Sort and organize slides
Use slide transitions and build effects
Apply rules of legibility for font size, color, background, and contrast
Apply the principles and fundamentals of graphic design in creating slides
Import graphics, including web and digital images
Create effective presentations that clearly communicate the topic and are appropriate for the intended audience.
