Description:
Learn to formulate data in tables to create graphs and charts showing what the data means, and find and use functions to perform specific calculations. Participants will learn to format and print spreadsheets, create easy class checklists, monitoring notes, and graphs for classroom applications, and keep/organize student information more effectively. This two-session course will provide foundational understanding and skills to apply Excel basics to personal and classroom work. Participants will build upon the following powerful teaching and learning strategies:
Teachers provide a classroom environment that actively engages all students in learning
Teachers differentiate by using a variety of instructional strategies based on the assessed strengths, needs and interests of their student
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
Plan and create spreadsheets for organizing data
Locate, edit, preview, print, and save spreadsheets
Apply cell formats (alignment, currency, colors, and borders)
Apply text formats (style, size, and font)
Use commands to replicate formulas and data
Format spreadsheets for effective communication
Select, resize, insert, and delete columns or rows
Use simple spreadsheet formulas: average and sum
Create graphs and charts
Label graphs correctly
