Spreadsheet - Practice and Application - Teacher Tips

With Cool Excel Tools, students use the power of Excel to solve realistic problems at the Guided Practice level.  The directions step students through how these tools work. 

If students work thoughtfully through the Cool Tools problems, they should be ready to tackle solving the graphing puzzles at the Application level.  There are 4 exercises.  You might want to assign a group to solve each one, or have each group solve all exercises and then compare solutions as a class. Consult your T: Drive to see the charts in the final workbook. The file is named GraphPuzzleResults.xls. Seeing the solutions might help you give students guiding hints, but they should work with classmates on the exercises, to demonstrate their ability to use Excel to solve problems.
