Apply a Design

  1. Select Format> Apply Design Template. Select a design and click Apply. You can preview the designs as you select them in the dialog box.  If you apply one and don't like it, return and select one you like better.
  2. Select Insert> New Slide. Select the Text & Clip Art layout. Click OK.
  3. Click in the Title box and type Interests.
  4. Click in the lower text box and list five of your interests (i.e., fishing, movies...).

Insert a Clip Art Image

  1. Double click the Clip Art image. Select an image that relates to one of your interests and click Insert. To browse the Internet for an image, click on the globe in the lower right-hand corner.
  2. Adjust the size of the image by dragging the control points on the surrounding box.

Adjust the Slide Color Scheme

  1. Select Format> Slide Color Scheme. Choose a different color scheme--if the default scheme has a dark background, choose a light one, etc.
    • If you prefer a background or text color that is not included in the set schemes, go to the Custom tab.
    • If you change scheme colors, consider whether the new colors are pleasing together.
    • Select Apply to change the color scheme of the current slide only. Do not select Apply to ALL as this will change the color scheme of your first slide and future slides that you will create.

Add a Border

  1. Click in the text box and select Format> Colors and Lines. In the Format AutoShape dialog box, select:
    • Colors and Lines tab: Add a border to the box--select Color and Style/Weight for the Line.
    • Size tab: With the text box still selected, rotate the text 10°.

Insert Date, Time and Page Number

  1. Insert the date, time and page number by selecting Header and Footer under View in the menu bar. Apply to this slide only. Save changes.
