You may print copies of the Outlook Instructions in step 4. They are designed for exploring Outlook tools and features that students may use in your class and high school. These instructions are not meant to provide a full tutorial, but give teachers and students starting points for exploration. You may want to create specific assignments to encourage your students to use more of these tools and features. For instance, ask students to mark a special date on their Outlook calendar--this is outlined on the first page of the instructions. You might invite your students to an after school appointment, then ask them about it in the next class session.
Step 5 asks students to do a sequence of simple tasks.
The Email Format assignment asks students to think about email etiquette while composing a message summarizing research on an aspect of the same topic.
Here, also, is a Publisher flyer you can print in color and post in your classroom, to remind students about files they should not delete--ones with these extensions: .swk, .pab, and .pst
Clarify with students that the .swk extension is attached to their MicroType practice records. You might even encourage them to create a folder called "Save" or "Don't Delete." Also emphasize that the .pab and .pst folders are email files that need to remain in their root directory
