Step 1 Have students retrieve portfolios to access self-assessment and career exploration activities

• Review skills and qualifications necessary for success in your Pathway

Step 2 Have students WORD PROCESS a list of 10 jobs that interest them within their Pathway from the sources listed on module website page

• Note: for the Career Center source, you can schedule a Career Center visit

Step 3 Have students create in WORD a list of 10 skills & qualifications employers look for in applicants using class copies of The Bellingham Herald and internet sites listed on the module.

• Lead class discussion to share lists and create a class-produced list
• Compare class list results to SCANS skills using overhead

Step 4 Using results, have students WORD PROCESS personal list of 10 skills and qualifications that would help them get a summer or part-time job

• Have them print hardcopy and file in portfolio
• Have them check off the blue checklist
