I. Problem to Solve
You are
on a team of musicians given the task of selecting the recording method for
your new company that is going to set the trend for the next ten years.
After
looking at the list of recording options, you will select the preferred
method. The finalists are: the compact
disc, the cassette tape, and the DVD. You will present your recommendation to
the Recording Industry Association of America.
II. Questions to guide your
thinking:
Make your selection based upon the following criteria:
1. Recording
Methods: What are the unique features of each method?
2. Advantages
of recording technology: What are the advantages of each of the
recording methods?
3. Impact
on Recording Industry: What resulted from the inventions of
each method?
4. Future: What is the future going to bring?

3. Spreadsheet Template: Music.xls
-Contains data on three kinds
of recording methods and is located in your Team Folder on the p:drive:8thAssessment2002.
There are two sets of numerical data that you need to graph. After creating
both graphs you will select one of the graphs to insert in your PowerPoint
presentation. You may want to make your
decision after completing the chart of recording formats.
4. Presentation Template: Music Industry Presentation Template.ppt
-A 7 page PowerPoint document. Use it in creating a visual presentation for viewing on the video projector computer. (It is a good idea to open and look at the templates before you start this project.)
