Steps for this Project

You will follow the research process as you work through this Research Module. The steps you will follow are:

Questioning
Ask yourself this guiding question: "Given the responsibility to plan a 30 minute Veteran’s Day Assembly for your school, what would be most important to include?." In order to answer that question, you will focus in on smaller questions to guide your planning and your research.

Planning
You and your teammates will decide on a graphic organizer for collecting information, and you will decide how to divide the work among yourselves.

Gathering
You will visit various web sites to gather information.

Sorting and Sifting
You will gather enough relevant information to answer your question. You will need to sift out the information that is not useful.

Synthesizing
You will use the information you gathered to answer the essential question and plan an assembly.

Gather, Sort, Sift, Synthesize
Repeat these steps until you have all the information you need.

Evaluating
You will evaluate your work at each step during the research process to see what is going well, and what you can go back and improve.

Reporting
You will create a schedule for a Veteran's Day Assembly, along with a 5-minute PowerPoint presentation teaching some important information about Veteran's Day, to share your answer to the essential question.
