Develop your information-seeking strategies.
Identifying
resources is an important part of planning. For this
project, the resources have been identified for you.
Planning for collecting information is a part
of planning. You may use the graphic organizers provided or create
your own organizer for information you gather related to the supporting
questions. A graphic organizer should include a way to keep track
of the resources you used.
Dividing tasks amongst your group members is
also a part of planning. Here are some examples:
Cluster around one computer with your group.
- One person
is the “driver,” operating the computer. Other group members
are “navigators,” searching, reading, and evaluating information
to include. Take turns at the different roles.
- Divide
the questions amongst group members. Each member works at their
own computer to gather information to share back to the group.
- One team
member is the “note taker,” while other team members gather
information. As they find useful information, they share with
the note taker, who records it on the notes sheet.
