Schools in the state of Washington are required by law to offer
students an opportunity to observe Veteran’s Day. While
in many schools, teachers and principals plan the observance of
Veteran’s Day, students may have the opportunity to plan
and present as well.
For this project, you will work as a member of a team to plan
an assembly for your school. You will work together to:
- create
a short PowerPoint presentation that teaches students something
important about Veteran’s Day
- plan other
events that will be included in your assembly.
The other events will be listed in an assembly schedule, which
your team will also create, but not necessarily research and present.
The assembly you plan may actually be shared with the students
in your school as a Veteran’s Day assembly, so your work
should be careful, creative and thorough. Try to plan an assembly
that you would enjoy attending!
