Steps for this Project
You
will follow the Research Cycle
as you work through this project. The steps are:
Questioning
Keep
referring back to this guiding question: " How do cultural backgrounds and
physical environments influence individual perspectives of America?” In order to answer that
question, you will focus in on smaller questions to guide your planning and
your research.
Planning
Decide
on what jobs you will need to do first. If you will be sending away for information, draft your
letter or email message early in the process.
Gathering
Next, you will be ready to search for the information that will help you
make your decision.
Sorting and Sifting
You have gathered a lot of information about three locations. Now it
is time to organize the information to focus on what is important in your
decision making.
Synthesizing
What
decisions can you make, using the information you gathered? What
information do you still need to find?
Gather,
Sort, Sift, Synthesize
Repeat
these steps until you have all the information you need.
Evaluating
Review the information you have gathered. Is it sufficient to support your
conclusions?
Reporting
Write an expository paper detailing your decision and the factors you
considered.
