Questioning
What do you need to know to solve the problem or make the decision?
With your team, discuss the various body systems available for study.
Survey all systems and as you identify a system that is of particular interest to you, enter it on the criteria sheet to help you compare it to other systems. You will select three systems to compare, using this criteria.
Possible criteria for comparison might be
- diseases of this system
- personal or family experience with health issues affecting this system
- effect of chemicals on this system (drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc)
- new advancements in the field
- new technologies (diagnostic equipment, new techniques, etc)
- career benefits - pay, ability to specialize, need for research, ability to help people
- additional criteria that will help you compare these systems
Share your completed criteria sheet with your teacher, and give reasons for arriving at your top choice.
Look at the Body System Outline and develop additional questions to guide your research.
