Gathering Information
Collect information to answer your questions.

On your summer vacation, you will make stops in at least three of Washington's regions. As you search for information on historic sites and museums, cultural groups, boating and water sports, baseball teams, campgrounds, and hiking trails, you will notice that different regions have different geographic features and different activities to offer.

Use your Note Sheet to record the information you gather for your summer vacation. Be sure to record information on each source using correct MLA Citation Format.

If you need a quick review of the characteristics of Washington's regions, see the following resources:

  • Your textbook, Washington in the Pacific Northwest.
  • World Book Online's article on Washington State. Look for Land Regions in the article outline.  (note: The Olympic Mountains and the Coast Range are described as distinct regions in this resource.)
