Path to Peace? Tumult in the Middle East

What causes conflicts among people, and how do people attempt to resolve those conflicts?

Bellingham Schools Research Investigation

7th Grade

Steps for this Project

You will follow the Research Cycle as you work through this project. The steps are:

Questioning
Guiding question: "What causes conflicts among people, and how do people attempt to resolve those conflicts?" Focus questions:  think of smaller questions to guide your planning and research.

Planning
Decide on what jobs your team will need to do in order to get the information to answer your questions. What will each team member do to make the team successful?

Gathering
You will visit various web sites to gather information.

Sorting and Sifting
Now it is time to arrange and rearrange the information to focus on what is important to your project.

Synthesizing
What decisions can you make, using the information you gathered?  What information do you still need to find?

Gather, Sort, Sift, Synthesize
Repeat these steps until you have all the information you need.

Evaluating
Is the information sufficient to develop and support a policy decision? How did your team work together to meet the requirements of the task?

Reporting
You will translate your findings into a persuasive,
Next instructive, and effective presentation to the President and the Middle East Think Tank.
