What causes conflicts among people, and how can resolutions be reached?

Bellingham Schools Research Investigation

7th Grade

Steps for this Project

You will follow the Research Cycle as you work through this project. The steps are:

Questioning
Guiding question: "What causes conflicts among people, and how can resolutions be reached?" Focus questions:  think of smaller questions to guide your planning and your research.

Planning
What jobs will each team member do to make the team successful?

Gathering
You will visit various web sites to gather information that will help you make your decision.

Sorting and Sifting
Arrange and rearrange the information to focus on what is important to your project.

Synthesizing
Keeping your guiding question in mind, discuss how the information helps answer the questions you posed.  What decisions can you make, using the information you gathered?  What information do you still need to find?

Gather, Sort, Sift, Synthesize
Repeat these steps until you have all the information you need.

Evaluating
Does the information support your conclusions? Evaluate your work as a team.

Reporting
You will translate your findings into a persuasive written product.
