Reporting Your Project
Persuasively present your decisions based on your information.
Now is the time to present your ideas to the Bellingham Research Endowment Corporation. You will need to persuade them that the two diseases you selected are the best choices to receive funds for research.
You and your partner will each write a business letter.
- One of you will write a letter in support of the communicable disease you believe the corporation should fund for research.
- The other will write a letter in support of the noncommunicable disease you believe the corporation should fund for research.
Be sure to consider the following question as you write your letter: What are the arguments against funding for this disease and how would you counter those arguments?
Your letters should contain the following:
- A compelling introduction that clearly states the disease you support and mentions at least 3 reasons for your decision.
- The middle paragraphs are logically organized, with each paragraph supporting one of the mentioned reasons with persuasive arguments, facts and statistics.
- A concluding paragraph that persuasively summarizes your ideas.
- The letter should follow the correct format for a business letter.
- The letter should use correct conventions. Spelling, capitalization, punctuation are correct.
You may refer to the 6 Trait Writing 4 Point Rubric as you draft your letter.
