Where Would You Settle?

How do geography, culture, and economy affect where people live?

Bellingham Schools Research Investigation

5th Grade

Planning
Develop your information-seeking strategies.

Teamwork:
As a team, decide how your team will work together. What skills will you need to have to be successful? Decide how you will share jobs.

  • Decide what jobs need to be done. (finding web sites, reading aloud from resources, typing and saving documents)
  • Decide how to share jobs (taking turns, how long does a turn last?, does everyone have a job?)
  • What skills will you need to have to be successful (good listener, patience, support others, how to help without doing someone else’s job)
  • How will you decide what information you will write down?
  • Does everyone agree?  Does everyone always have to agree?
  • Who will you go to if you’re having problems with working together or finding information?

What skills and strategies will you need? How will you determine which facts will help to support your selection?Next
