Reporting Your Project
Persuasively present your decisions based on your information.

Now that you have done your research, you will create a brochure to persuade your parents to take this trip.

  • Your brochure will explain the region that you have chosen for each activity: Mountaineering, White Water Rafting, Fishing and Festivals.
  • You will also include a picture for each activity.

Be sure to plan a persuasive oral presentation to go with your brochure.  Use the classroom map of Washington State to trace the route you have chosen for your family's road trip.

You may open a template that will help you put together an organized brochure. Once you open the brochure template, you will need to save it to a drive as directed by your teacher.

  • If the computer you are using has Publisher 2000, please click here to get to the brochure.
  • If the compute you are using has Publisher 97, please click here to get to the brochure.
  • If you are not sure what version of Publisher you have, please ask your teacher.

You will want to import pictures from the Internet for your brochure. When you find an good picture from one of the Internet sites that you want to add to your brochure, follow these directions:

  • In Publisher, select or highlight the box on your brochure where you want the picture to appear.
(Do this by clicking once on the box)
  • On the web page, click on the picture with the RIGHT button on your mouse. A menu will appear. Select Copy from this menu.
  • Go back to your Publisher brochure and paste the picture in by clicking on the box where you want the picture to appear with your RIGHT mouse button.  Then select Paste.
  • You can then shrink and move the picture. To shrink the picture, you will need to place your cursor on the corner of the image (you will see a diagonal arrow and the word "RESIZE")  then click and drag with your left mouse button. To move the picture, click and drag on the center of the picture.

You will also need to give credit to the website where you got the picture from. To do that:

  • On the web page, RIGHT click once on the address (or URL) at the top of the page
  • Select Copy from the menu that pops up.
  • Go back to the Publisher brochure and find the box underneath the picture where it says: Photo Credit. RIGHT click in this box and a pop-up menu will appear. Select Paste to add your URL to this box.
