Locations of fish traps

There were several fish traps between Fairhaven and Blaine. Most of the local fishermen did their fishing in that region. The fish trap on which Uncle Cyrus may work is

located at Semiahmoo

near Blaine and the Canadian border.

There were also many fish traps in the San Juan Islands. Captain Finley piloted the “Calendar” around the traps in the islands. The Allsop trap at Lummi Island took hundreds of thousands of pounds a day. There were three fish traps at Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island.

Fairhaven: In 1899,the Pacific American Fisheries Co. (P.A.F.) was established in Fairhaven.
