| Blood bourne pathogen training is required for all new employees and for designated "high risk" employees who must re-take the couse every year. You will be notified by mail if your position is considered in the high risk category.
New employees must take the training in a classroom setting during one of the scheduled training classes.
For currently employed high risk employees, blood borne pathogens training is available online. You can enroll in the class and take the training from any Bellingham School District computer, or from your computer at home. If you use a district network computer you must know your district login and password (every district employee has one) and log onto a district computer before you proceed with enrolling in the course.
If you use your home computer, you must be connected to the Internet with a broadband connection (cable or DSL). A modem (telephone) connection to the Internet will not be fast enough. If you need help with the login and enrollment process described below, you can arrange to take online BBP training at your school library; contact your school librarian to do so. If your work location is not at a school (for example, if you are a bus driver) and you need help, contact the Instructional Technology department at 676-6526 for assistance.
Contacts:
- For obtaining your district login and password if you do not know it: Lauri McBeath-Davies, x4451
- For administrative issues such as when you last completed the course: Kathy Kullas, x6503
- For assistance with the login and course enrollment process: contact your school librarian. If you do not work at a school site (for example, you are a bus driver) contact Mary Rausch, x6528 in the Instructional Technology Department.
