Purpose

  • Review the existing district technology plan
  • Investigate new technologies
  • Draft a revised district technology plan that defines our future picture of technology usage for Board approval


Basis for Establishment

  • The district technology plan is required by state
  • State and federal technology grants require a state approved district technology plan
  • Future technology funds are driven by the district technology plan

Decision Making

  • Consultative to the Superintendent and the Board. We will be making recommendations regarding the revision of the district technology plan.
  • Consensus will be used for internal decisions during the ongoing work of the Task Force.
  • Input and feedback from students, parents, staff and administrators may be solicited throughout the process

Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings regularly and actively participate in discussions
  • Seek information about current and new technologies
  • Follow state guidelines and requirements for district technology plans
  • Work to develop consensus regarding recommendations
  • Present recommendations to Superintendent


Timeline

  • Gather plan requirement and format information in mid-October
  • Identify Task Force members and hold first meeting in late October
  • Work sessions November through March
  • Present draft in April


Budget Implications

  • Teacher release time and outside the workday compensation will be covered by the Instructional Technology and Libraries department.
