Tim Magner shared the national vision for educational technology during the meeting. Key points:

- Structural changes in other industries accompanied adoption of technology
- Structural changes haven’t accompanied the use of technology in schools to the same degree
- Looking at how technology can augment, perhaps replace processes
- The set of requirements have changed for what a ‘good education’ may be for the 21st century
- We know how to meet the requirements for a hundred year old system; but what would this look like now?
- Community conversation needs to be the entry point for envisioning the future
- School 2.0 map used as an example of how to create a big picture that creates a context for envisioning the future
- Systemic view in order to design for the transformative power of technology
Task Force members assignment for next meeting….reflect on Tim’s thoughts and how our vision of technology for BSD may look.
