Dear Parent/Guardian,

During the course of the school year, it is important for our students to go on selected student trips in connection with their classroom studies. These short trips are used to enhance and enrich concepts being taught in their classrooms.

Some trips are short, neighborhood walks. Occasionally, classes ride to a local destination on the city transit buses. Other occasions may require school bus transportation and may require children to be away from school for several hours. In all cases, students are under the direct supervision of their classroom teachers and other approved chaperones.

As the year progresses, your child's teacher will keep you informed of student trips being planned. Whenever your child's class is going on a student trip you should receive ample notice of the trip being taken including such information as the departure time, destination, return time, purpose of the trip, and any special information about clothing or supplies your child should bring.

We consider selected student trips to be valuable extensions of our instructional program. If you should have any objections to your child's participation in any of the pre-announced student trips, please notify the school in writing.

Any out-of-town student trips will require an additional form to be signed by the parent or guardian prior to the departure for that trip. The form on the reverse side of this letter will allow you to give your overall consent for local student trips throughout the school year. Please complete the form and return it to school as soon as possible.

If you have any questions about our student trip program or procedures, please feel free to talk to your student's teacher.

PLEASE COMPLETE THE INFORMATION ON THE FORM ON

THE REVERSE SIDE AND RETURN IT TO YOUR CHILD'S SCHOOL.
