BOARD POLICY

TRAFFIC SAFETY EDUCATION

The District shall provide traffic safety instruction for eligible students. A fee shall be assessed to cover those costs that are not reimbursed by state funds. If state funds are available, the fee may be waived or reduced for students whose families are low income. The USDA child nutrition program income guidelines shall be used to determine qualification for a fee waiver or fee reduction.

The Board directs the superintendent to implement procedures dealing with program supervision . Those procedures should define the curriculum; student enrollment criteria, including age and enrollment status of student; student progress; and collection and refunding of student fees, provisions for accruing money for future traffic safety program needs or refunding students when student fees exceed the non-reimbursed cost of the programs; and, if available, the process for fee waivers or reductions.
