Risk Analysis Tasks

  1. Research the following risk behavior and risk factors:
    • Alcohol, Drug, Tobacco use
    • Cancer
    • Cardiovascular disease
    • Nutrient supplements
    • Date rape
    • Driving
    • Hepatitis
    • Hereditary disorders
    • HIV transmission
    • Listening to loud music
    • Positive identity
    • Peer pressure
    • Personal safety
    • Refusal skills
    • Risky weight-loss programs
    • Sexual activity
    • Sexually transmitted diseases
    • Stress
    • Violence and Gang membership
    • Physical activity
    • Suicide
    • Weather related
  2. Use MLA format to write a four or more page analysis of the above as it relates to you personally. Identify the risk factors as hereditary, behavioral or environmental. Explain which factors are controllable and which are uncontrollable and why. Include a works consulted page.  Type your work.
  3. Download the Personal Health Plan Template and rubric.
  4. Use your risk analysis to write your health goals. Type your work.
  5. Make an appointment with your personal Health Care Provider or school nurse well in advance of the due date to discuss your goals and score your Personal Health Plan.
  6. Submit your risk analysis paper, health goals and rubric to the high school health teacher by the Health Course Challenge due date for the current school year.
