The Middle Schools are seeking candidates for these positions.  Locations may include Shuksan, Fairhaven, Kulshan and Whatcom Middle Schools.

 

Application Procedures:
Thank you for your interest in a classified (non-teaching/support) position with the Bellingham Public Schools. Application materials may be submitted at any time; however, to be considered for open positions, please follow the application procedures listed below.

A Full Application Packet Includes:

  • Letter of Application (include job number[s] for which you are applying) (Required)
  • Classified Application (Required)
  • Insert Questions applicable to position(s) for which you are applying (Required)
  • Sexual Misconduct Release form (Required)
  • Résumé – (Required for most positions)
  • At least two (2) letters of recommendation (Required for supervisory and professional/technical positions; strongly encouraged for all positions)
  • Request for Affirmative Action Program Data form (Optional)

Additional Information:

  • All parts of the application packet must be received in the Human Resources Department by the closing date and time indicated on the posting.
  • Once a complete application is on file, please apply for any additional jobs with only a cover letter, updated résumé and applicable insert questions (if needed).

Screening/Hiring Process:

  • Applicants determined to have the qualifications, experience, and greatest potential for the specific opening(s) will be invited to test and/or interview.(Please note: Having a completed application on file does not guarantee selection for an interview.)
  • Applications remain in active status through December of each year.
  • Please notify the Human Resources Department of any changes in address, name or other pertinent information.

Pre-employment Information (For individuals selected for employment)

  • A criminal history record, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The $65.00 cost of such background check, including fingerprinting, will be borne by the prospective employee.
  • The Federal Immigration and Nationality Act requires us to verify your identity and authorization to work before you may commence employment.
  • Pursuant to RCW Chapter 43.43, as amended, you will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether you have been convicted of certain crimes against persons and/or civil and administrative adjudications of assault, abuse, or exploitation.
  • Pursuant to RCW 28A.400.301, you will be required to complete sexual misconduct forms for your previous school district employers in the United States and foreign countries.

Terms Of Employment

  • Employment is subject to the acceptable outcome of a criminal history records check, including fingerprinting (cost to be borne by the prospective employee).
  • District-approved bloodborne pathogen training is required to be completed prior to the beginning of the sports season.
  • Middle school head coaches are required to hold current CPR and first aid certification cards.
  • All high school coaches are required to hold CPR and first aid certification cards and to participate in WIAA-approved inservice/training courses as stipulated by the WIAA Coaches Standards and Education Program.
