QUALIFICATIONS: |
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- NATA/BOC (National Athletic Trainers Assoc., Board of Cert.) certification or training in preparation for such certification (or appropriate substitute education and experience)
- Current first aid/CPR card
- Teaching certificate desirable
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

RESPONSIBILITES: |
- Work cooperatively with coaches in setting up and carrying out a conditioning program for athletes.
- Administer first aid to injured athletes; obtain ambulances when necessary.
- Apply protective or injury-preventative devices, such as tape, bandages, or braces.
- Advise about equipment purchases.
- Supervise fitting of protective equipment.
- Work cooperatively with and under the direction of the physician about the following:
- Reconditioning procedures
- Operation of therapeutic devices and equipment
- Fitting of braces, guards, and other devices
- Referrals to the physician, health services, or hospital
- Assisting with physical examinations and physical fitness screening
- Direct daily training room operations, including the following:
- Exercise rehabilitation and therapy programs
- Recordkeeping
- Requisitioning and storage of supplies
- Inventory and budget allocation
- Provide training coverage of athletic events, both home and away.
- Supervise and instruct assistant and student athletic trainers.

- Counsel and advise athletes and coaches about matters pertaining to health.
- Act as a clinical supervisor for students working toward NATA certification.
- Conduct athletic training clinics and workshops periodically for students and staff.
- Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as designated by the building principal.
