- High
school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum
of twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Valid Washington State driver's license with CDL
Class B endorsement with air restriction removed, passenger endorsement,
and Washington State authorization for transporting
students or ability to obtain required endorsements.
(Note: Selected applicants will have the opportunity to attend training
classes conducted by District driver trainers. Job offers can only be
made to applicants with valid licenses as listed above.)
- Must
receive specific additional training and testing as required, provided
by the District Transportation Department, to qualify for passenger
endorsement and school bus driver authorization.
- Has
the physical dexterity and ability to:
- operate
a large vehicle; and
- evacuate
students in emergency situations.
- Has,
in the judgment of the administration, demonstrated aptitude and competence
for assigned responsibilities, including the ability to:
- interact
patiently with a diverse student population;
- react
quickly and appropriately to visual and/or audible stimuli;
- communicate
clearly and tactfully with students and adults;
- maintain
confidentiality.
- Such
alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
and acceptable.
