High School World Language (Spanish or French) Teacher(s)
Currently, one part-time (0.200 FTE) provisional position exists at Options High School for the 2008-09 school year. Candidates who apply at this time will be considered for additional high school world language (Spanish or French) teaching positions that may occur during the 2008-09 school year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: |
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate with endorsement in Spanish or French. Candidates with endorsement(s) in additional content areas preferred.
- Successful experience as a classroom teacher.
- Candidates must be willing and able to deliver world language courses necessary for alternative high school students to meet high school graduation requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to use District or State standards for grade level expectations for appropriate content area to plan appropriate lesson objectives, identify resources, design learning experiences, and to group students based on assessed needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate students and to implement a variety of effective teaching methods based on understanding of student abilities and needs.
- Knowledge and experience using technology in the delivery of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to analyze your own instructional practices through regular and ongoing observations and dialogues associated with peer mentoring and coaching.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

- Demonstrated ability to work with families and to clearly articulate school programs and State of Washington Essential Academic Learning Requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to decision-making in collaboration with administrators,
other staff members, and the parent community.
- Knowledge of and ability to assess and design instruction for a classroom of diverse learners (English Language Learners [ELL], highly capable, learning disabled, autistic, orthopedically or gross-motor impaired, health impaired, mentally retarded, communication disordered, behavior disabilities, etc.)
