The Bellingham School District Human Resources Department hereby publishes notice of the following administrative position opening(s) for the 2008-09 school year:

• MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

The District seeks candidates with outstanding educational leadership skills for the position of Middle School Assistant Principal.  The District may fill any subsequent vacancies for Middle School Assistant Principal positions that may occur for the 2008-09 school year from those who apply at this time.

APPLICANT DEADLINE

Applicants are to submit a letter of application, a completed Bellingham School District administrative application form and all required materials, resumé, transcript(s) (official or unofficial), copy of Washington State teaching and administrative certificates or evidence of eligibility, and placement file by noon on Monday, July 7, 2008.  Selected applicants will be contacted for personal interview.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1.     Master's degree with a major in educational administration or appropriate related field.

2.     Washington State principal and teaching credentials.

3.     Experience in public school administration and supervision preferred.

4.     Successful experience as a classroom teacher and/or in a support position.

5.     Demonstrated ability to work with people in a leadership capacity.

6.     Evidence of experience and training needed to perform the functions described in the job description.

7.     Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

• Current salary: $81,266 - $87,547 depending upon experience. (Subject to COLA increase by the State for the 2008-09 school year and current negotiations with Bellingham Administrators’ Organization.)
• Contract: 212-day contract, between July 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009.
• Current benefit options include medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and paid life insurance ($50,000).
