The Bellingham School District Human Resources Department hereby publishes notice of the following administrative position opening for the 2008-09 school year:

•   HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

           Closes noon, July 9, 2008.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     Master's degree with a major in educational administration or appropriate related field.

2.     Washington State administrator certificate with a principal endorsement and a teaching certificate.

3.     Experience in public school administration and supervision preferred.

4.     Successful experience as a classroom teacher and/or in a support position.

5.     Demonstrated ability to work with people in a leadership capacity.

6.     Evidence of experience and training needed to perform the functions described in the assistant principal's job description.

7.     Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

• Current salary: $86,017 - $92,665 depending upon experience. (Subject to COLA increase by the State for the 2008-09 school year and current negotiations with Bellingham Administrators’ Organization.)
• Contract: 214-day contract, between July 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009.
• Current benefit options include medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and paid life insurance ($50,000).
