In addition to fishing vessels and pleaure craft, Bellingham enjoys frequent visits from much larger ships which either supply the local factories with raw materials or take away products which are ready for market. In this picture, Lummi Island looms in the background to the right, the first of the San Juan Islands - Orcas, San Juan, Lopez and several others. This area offers some of the best sailing and boating in the world.
