Ready for college, career and citizenship.  This is our charge for preparing students in our Bellingham Public Schools as set by our district strategic plan.

The largest of seven school districts in Whatcom County, Bellingham covers 97 square miles and has 73,000 residents. Approximately 10,400 students are enrolled in the district. Thirteen elementary schools serve students grades K – 5; four middle schools serve students grades 6 – 8; and three high schools serve students in grades 9 – 12. A small alternative high school is also available, as well as preschool and post-high school programs for students with disabilities.

Approximately 700 professional educators and 550 instructional assistants and support staff.  More than 88% of the faculty have more than five years of college or hold master’s degrees; many are leaders in their field and have received local, state, and national honors.
