A preference survey is being sent to collect information from certificated and classified staff, families, and administrators about the calendar structure for the 2009-2010 and the 2010-2011 school years. As a district, our current Bellingham Education Association (BEA) Collective Bargaining Agreement describes the process for developing a calendar.
The calendar development process requires the joint BEA/District administration committee gather input from staff and families prior to preparing full calendar options. This survey is the means to provide this input. This information will be compiled for each group (certificated staff, classified staff, families, and administrators) and utilized by the joint committee to develop the proposed calendar options. Calendar options will be presented to certificated staff for their final input. Those results will be compiled by the joint committee and communicated to the Superintendent and Association President for their review. Following District/Association agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding will be prepared for final Association and Board approval.
Families should follow the instructions on the Family Survey Information link to provide input. If computer access is unavailable, families may request a hard copy of the survey from the building secretary.
Staff should see their building/program secretary for survey materials and Scantron card.
