Members present: Sue Thomas, Pat Contor, Darcy Fusch, Carol Reppun (meeting held prior to regular Assistive Technology Meeting at Colligo)

Topic: Lynn Anderson – Roosevelt Vantage situation   

Summary:  Possibility of parents allowing student to use personal Vantage at school, therefore returning school Vantage to Assistive Tech team for other student use.

Next Steps: Parents denied permission

Topic: Lynn Anderson – Request for KMS Lifeskills student eval at Children's Hospital

Summary: Children's Hospital provides a full written report and is helpful with insurance requests for equipment.

Next Steps: Committee approved evaluation, with the requirement that report will give

  1. strengths, needs and capabilities of students

  2. a description of what student needs,

  3. characteristics of ideal device, not a recommendation for specific equipment

Carol will arrange for Lynn to try Delta Talker with this student.

Topic: Yvette Casto request for Kulshan Middle School student

Summary: Requesting Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic Annual Fee and tape recorder, plus John Glenn consultation for Dragon Naturally Speaking

Next Steps:

  1. Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic annual fee and tape recorder will be purchased

  2. Rather than a consultation with John Glenn, Carol will work with student on CoWriter and Inspirations Software
