Meeting Minutes

- 2006-2007 Expenditures to date - $8860 remaining in the budget
- Updates from last meeting
- Completed items – no decisions needed
- Geneva Lifeskills Touch Monitor – purchase approved for 1725L 17” LCD Desktop Touchmonitor (3000 Series) plus a stylus
- Headsets & extra RAM for Dragon users purchased 4/07 & 5/07
- Adapter for Big Keys purchased 3/07
- Geneva Lifeskills switch (Danene) – student is using switch already in OT/PT inventory
- Boardmaker Sign Language – Geneva Lifeskills – (approved via email) purchased -
- Infrared Eye for USB printer – (approved by email) - purchased
- New Requests
- Dragon Preferred v.9 ($179.99 per copy + tax and shipping)
- Lorraine Holcomb has written the need for Dragon on IEPs of students moving to high school. Purchase more copies? Pat and Carol will discuss this with Sue Thomas and purchase as recommended.
- Northern Heights – Cathy Crouch – Cathy will try out Dragon using the laptop and if successful, Carol will order software + RAM + headphones
- Shuksan – Sarah Zeller – no referral received yet.
- Geneva Dragon user is moving to Kulshan. Other students use Dragon program at Geneva. Should we ask for a referral form so a copy of Dragon can be kept at Geneva and be removed and sent to Kulshan? Pat and Carol will discuss this with Sue Thomas and purchase as recommended.
- Sean Shaughnessy – Wynn Reader - $265 – Pat will make sure Wynn Reader is sufficient and that Wynn Wizard isn’t needed instead. Approval to purchase as Pat recommends.
- Read, Write and Type (Riverdeep) – Lowell & Larrabee - $69.95 (2 copies for each school plus tax and shipping) – purchase approved.
- DHOH needs – Darcy reported that she has no needs at this time.
- Other Business
- Dragon Preferred v9 – Do all copies need to be student specific? I.E. Shuksan – D.B. has moved on from Dragon, but other students are using it. Pat and Carol will discuss this with Sue Thomas.
- Closing the Gap magazine – decision made to not renew
- Closing the Gap Annual Conference – October 18-20 in Minneapolis
- SETC Summer Events
- Brochures, etc. from Terry Thompson
- Assistive Technology transition needs – An email was sent to teachers who have students transitioning to new programs to identify needs of students + problems associated with transferring AT materials. Very few responses
- Share Point – Per Terry Pauls, this is a great accessibility program for Special Ed students. He will talk with Ann Reed and Tanya Rowe about Special Ed needs and uses for this program
