Meeting Notes      Date:  March 17, 2006

Topic:  Welcome to new committee member – Debbie Servoss

Topic:  Purchase of Wynn Wizard for Community Transitions

Next Steps:  Committee approved purchase.  Carol will arrange purchase.  Pat Contor will train CT staff

Topic:  Podcasting demo – Apple Computer representatives      

Next Steps:  Ann Reed will email Ipod info to AT Committee members

Topic:  Roosevelt computer/printer request

Summary:  Student who uses a Vantage to access classroom computer, so other students have limited computer use.

Next Steps:  Pat Contor, Debbie Servoss and Ken Russell will visit Roosevelt and make a recommendation to the AT Committee

Topic:  Columbia request for student specific Alphasmart to follow student to middle school

Next Steps:  This request will be tabled until September 2006.  Advise teacher to indicate on IEP that access to Alphasmart will be needed in 6th grade.  In September, Carol will check with 6th grade teacher to see if school has an Alphasmart available for this student.

Topic:  Purchase of Clicker 5 for Alderwood

Next Steps:  Carol will arrange purchase

Topic:  Purchase of Clie replacement parts for James Walsh classroom  

Summary:  When James left the district, the Clie was transferred back to the AT Committee Lending Library.  Student who borrowed Clie lost some of the necessary parts.  James would like to use the Clie with a student.

Next Steps:  Terry Pauls will follow up with James and make a recommendation to the AT Committee

Topic:  Happy Valley – request for AT consultation for student

Summary:  Happy Valley would like suggestions for utilizing available equipment and/or other equipment to try.

Next Steps:  Debbie Servoss will follow up and report results to the AT Committee.

Topic:  Carl Cozier Lifeskills request for (2) Talk Trac Plus with Levels

Summary:  Loaned items from SETC were successful for students

Next Steps:  Committee approved, and Carol will arrange purchase

Topic:  Carl Cozier Lifeskills request for upgrade to Boardmaker version 5 and symbol addendums 1998 - 2004

Next Steps:  Committee approved, and Carol will arrange purchase

Topic:  Diane Delahunty request for (5) Abelnet cordless receivers for preschools

Summary:   Per Abelnet, these receivers are obsolete so they’ll send 5 to us free of charge.

Topic:  Current Assistive Technology Budget remaining budget - $17,747

Topic:  Pat Contor has received current info from Colligo re their products.

Summary:  Handouts and flyers from workshop were available to meeting attendees.
