June 2, 2008 Meeting Minutes

• Meeting attendees:  Pat Contor, Ken Russell, John Glenn, Karen Tracy, Danene Park, Carol Reppun
• Update from March meeting
• Kulshan Lifeskills – Projector to use with document camera – Lisa will participate in the tech training incentive to receive a free projector after training.
• Information/discussion re WWU/SETC training opportunities for teachers this coming fall.  (Danene Park)  Danene has contacted Linda Schleef at WWU who is trying to set up a computer training area at WWU for our teachers to learn various computer programs
• Long term consideration of the AT role in “Response to Intervention”.  (Pat Contor).  AT Committee may be called on for demonstrations, equipment loans, consultation
• Remaining in budget – approximately $6900
• The following purchases were approved

• AW Preschool request for Cheap Talk 8 - $240 (6/20/08 update – approved by email vote and purchased.)
• Shuksan request for additional computers – this request was approved by John Getchell in March, but Shuksan principal didn’t get back to Ann Reed as requested.  Committee is asking Sue T to follow up on this.
• Request for technology and RFB&D membership for SQHS student (John Glenn) – An Assistive Technology assessment will be done in the fall, starting with low tech devices, WYNN, etc. to determine what will help student.
• Carol will ask Yvette Casto about success rate of other students with RFB&D memberships.
• WMS student needing laptop (Sheila Davis) - Carol will advise middle school teacher making referral that we table this request until fall to see if need is still there. 
• The following requests are tabled until we received criteria from Sue Thomas for computer/laptop requests
