Requests
for Reconsideration of Instructional Materials
- If
a parent or guardian objects to the inclusion of material
in the library collection, listen carefully to their concerns.
Explain why you selected the material. Show review source(s)
for the material (these should be on your materials order
database).
- If
this informal process does not resolve the matter, the parent,
guardian or custodian may submit a formal Request
for Reconsideration of Instructional Materials ,
which follows the process required in the District's Instructional
Materials Procedures .
- Alert
your building principal and the Director of Instructional
Technology and Libraries whenever a parent has questioned
materials or requests the Reconsideration of Materials form.
