For
families meeting Federal income guidelines, meals at school
can be obtained for little or no cost. Applications are available at each
school office.
Food
Services is now able to offer families the ability to download
Free & Reduced lunch applications along with the letter
of instruction in Adobe Acrobat format. The application can
be accessed in the languages shown below. Just click on the
letter or application in the language that you would like
to use.
Free
and reduced price meals are available to students unable to
pay the full price of meals according to criteria based on
household size and income.
Applications are available in Punjabi, Russian, Spanish,
Vietnamese, Cambodian, Korean, Chinese, Laotian, Arabic and
Japanese. Each
school has a copy of these translations and a master set is
on file in the Food Services office.
There
is no overt identification of students who receive a free
or reduced price meal. Our computerized point of service
system, MealTime, uses the same format for all students. Every student is assigned a Personal
Identification Number (PIN). Money is deposited in student accounts. Accounts are automatically set up
for students who qualify for free meals. These accounts show a “phantom” balance of
$ 20.00. Students
select meals and enter their number at the cashier. |
