The Bellingham
School District has guidelines
and procedures for accessing
and using interpreters and
translators. These guidelines
and procedures are intended
to be used by district staff
in communicating with families
who speak a language other
than English.
TransACT
Translation Library
Our
district has contracted with
TransACT to provide commonly
used school forms in many different
languages. The Library contains
60+ documents translated into
23 languages for effective communication
with limited and/or non-English-speaking
families. Each document is professionally
translated, typeset, edited,
desktop published and contains
our school district's specific
information. To access TransACT,
you must be authorized and use
a login and password. If you

Interpreters
The
district provides a list of board approved individuals who
may serve as interpreters for school meetings and activities.
Please follow the process given below to contact an interpreter.
