Welcome to Professional Development. The Bellingham School District is committed to ensuring success for all students through high-quality professional development opportunities. Our program is based on the belief that staff members are learners who continually improve their performance. We work in collaboration with Curriculum and Assessment & Evaluation as the Curriculum Department.

School Board Policy 5340 outlines a systematic process for professional development that includes whole group, small group, and one-on-one support. (New Teacher Seminar Series, Mentor Program, Coaching Model, District Learning Facilitators, Grade Level and Specialist Meetings and Professional Development Opportunities).

The Professional Development section of the Teaching and Learning Web site is designed to provide district personnel with an easy-to-use comprehensive on-line guide to professional development courses and events. The 2004-2005 Professional Develop Catalog is available online.
