Minutes from Meeting Held on November 30, 2004

•  Welcome

Adrienne Nelson reviewed the role of the Instructional Materials Committee and the Policy and Procedures 2311 Instructional Materials  

•  The following materials and presentations have been reviewed by the IMC and recommended for use in the Bellingham Public Schools:

Health: Middle School

Recommended

The following six Presentations (including materials) from Planned Parenthood have been approved for use in middle school:

• Decision-making
• Communication and Refusal Skills
• Relationships and Dating
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Contraception
• Sexually Transmitted Infections  

Health and Fitness and Family Psychology and Science: High School

Recommended

The video, Dating Violence, The Hidden Secret was reviewed and approved by committee members for inclusion in the Dating Violence presentation approved last month.

•  Next Steps

Three brochures from Relate were briefly reviewed. The Committee will consider the use of the three brochures when they review the whole presentation.

The next IMC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 25, at 4 PM at Roeder Administration Building in room 204.
