Science K-10 Curriculum

Home Site Search

A Secondary Science Curriculum Committee completed two years of extensive study and research to develop a 6-10 curriculum in science. Their work includes a general description of Middle School Science Course Content, K-10 Grade Level Expectations, Approved WASL Vocabulary For Elementary, Middle School and High School Science, and Benchmarks (see links on the right). The curriculum is standards-based and aligned with state and national science standards.

Grade level science expectations for Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5 have been taken verbatim from the previous science curriculum guide (1996). Although professional development will occur in grades K-5, curriculum development will not take place until the moratorium on new elementary curriculum development is lifted in 2006.

The science K-10 curriculum was approved by the Bellingham School Board in April 2004.
