 Tasks:

How are students being grouped for test administration?

Elementary Schools: This only affects booklet grouping for distribution, not for score reporting. All booklets for each grade level will be separated into groups by the names associated with the “advisor” field in Zangle – most often the name of each child’s teacher. Your student test booklets will come grouped by the advisor listed in Zangle as of February 1. Please contact Brian Rick by February 1 only if grouping by advisor is not preferred for your school.

Middle Schools: All booklets for each grade level will be sorted alphabetically by last name. This only affects booklet grouping for distribution, not for score reporting. If you would like your booklets grouped for distribution in another manner, please send Jody Byers an Excel spreadsheet for each grade level that includes the following columns of information: District Student ID, School Name, Grade, Student Name, and Group/Teacher Name. If you want one subject grouped different from another, then include columns of Group/Teacher Name for Reading, Writing, Math, and Science. These files need to be received by Jody no later than February 1 to be incorporated into your pre-ID information.

High Schools: Your student WASL booklets will be sorted alphabetically by last name and grouped by grade level.

Are you ready to meet all needs for test accommodations? If you have any students who need large print or Braille versions of WASL, please contact John Glenn at extension 4416.

Have your IEP teams determined WAAS or WASL testing for special education students? If your staff has questions about this, please have your Special Education teacher contact Lucille Nollette at extension 6833.

Do you have ELL students who enrolled for the first time in a U.S. public school within the past 12 months? These students are required to participate in the Math WASL only. They are not required to take the WASL in other subjects but may participate if they so choose. Scores are not reported.

Do you have students you share with another school? If so, please determine which school will test the child and contact Jody Byers at extension 4436.

Do you have part-time home school or private school students? If so, please confirm their enrollment code in Zangle. If you have a Zangle question, please contact Betty Miller at extension 4441. If you have other questions about these students, please give Brian Rick a call.
Have high school students in grades 9, 11 and 12 pre-registered? The deadline for students to pre-register is January 14.
